LACMA in conjuction with FONAFIFO is working in a project to reduce or mitigate the emission of greenhouse gases (CO2) in the planet. FONAFIFO (in Spanish: Fondo Nacional de Financiamiento Forestal), is a Costa Rica organization dedicated to the environment conservation and has differents projects to save the planet.
In our 2009 Convention in Trinidad and Tobago, the project called "Clean Travel" was presented, as first time, to show how the participants of the convention could contribute to mitigate these gases by giving a monetary contribution that will be addressed for tree planting in Costa Rica.
This makes LACMA Convention to be the first moving association to have a project for the planet conservation, the Clean Travel.

LACMA looking the importance of conservation and preservation of our environment, wants to present the following Tips with the purpose of making awareness about the importance of preserving our planet.
 DO’S:

Grow trees and keep plants indoors.

Recycle plastic bottles, cans and paper.

Maintain grass areas; this helps to prevent forest fires.

Disconnect electrical devices not in use.

Use fertilizers and pesticides based on natural products.
-
Water plants and gardens so that they absorve more water and it does not evaporate.

Close faucets while not in use.
-
Use cold water to bathe and wash your hands.
-
Regulate the use of air conditioning / heating.
 DON’TS:

Dispose trash on beaches or rivers.

Use fertilizers and pesticides based on chemical products.
-
Use aerosol (sprays) with elements that damage the ozone layer.
